"Viewing the COVID-19 Pandemic Through a Gender/Sex Lens"

COVID-19 has illuminated the importance of gender/sex-specific differences in every facet of our lives. After months of work from the iGIANT Youth Ambassadors and Scholars-in-Residence, we investigate how sex and gender impacts healthcare, retail, IT, and transportation in the context of the pandemic in our recent publication in the Journal of Women's Health. The differed responses of men and women to therapeutics, varied anthropomorphic facial differences that affect N95 fit, different EHR usages, and more are all discussed. It is incredibly important that we take steps to ensure gender- and sex- inclusive innovation to improve the safety and quality of life for everyone. Click here to read.
